I recently graduated college and am planning my graduation party, this is one recipe I plan on making. Chex Mix is the perfect party snack because it is so easy to make in large batches. I made my Sweet & Spicy Chex Snack Mix before but I was looking for something less spicy, but not as sweet as my Margarita Snack Mix this is the perfect mix! It’s not too spicy, unless you want to add a little bit of a kick to it! It has a unique variety of ingredients that are sure to please a crowd. Who would have thought that wonton strips and Cheez-its went so well in Chex Mix!

Party Snack Mix

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons A1 Steak Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Seasoned Salt
  • 1/8 Teaspoon Ground Ancho Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Paprika
  • 2 Cups Pretzels
  • 2 Cups Plain Croutons
  • 1 Cup Cheez-Its
  • 1 Cup Wonton Strips
  • 3 Cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 3 Cups Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 Cup Wheat Chex Cereal

Directions:

1.Preheat your oven to 250 Degrees. While the oven is preheating , melt butter in a 9×13 pan.

2. In a large bowl, stir together the pretzels, wonton strips, croutons, Cheez-Its, and  Chex cereals.

3. One the butter has melted, remove the pan from the oven. Add the seasoning. Add the Steak Sauce, olive oil, onion, garlic, cumin, ancho pepper, turmeric, and paprika and stir until mixed. At this point I usually taste test the sauce to see if there is anything else I want to add. If you want your Chex mix to have a bit of a kick, you can try adding in more pepper.

4. Gradually add in the cereal mixture to the pan and stir so that everything is evenly coated. I would suggest adding it 1/3 at a time.  Once everything has been added it will be difficult to stir.

5. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Every 15 or 20 minutes, remove from the oven and stir so that it all dries evenly.

6. Allow to cool before serving and store in an airtight container.
